Confirmation camp 2006.

Con camp this year has indeed renewed my faith. I realised during this camp that what ive supposedly been doing for god for a long period of time has been a dillusion. For awhile ive been having doubts about my faith, questioning the existence of god and why we're even here. After Bro Jude's talk however, i feel otherwise.


Day one.
First half of day one were ice breakers. You could say my group owned ahaha.. thanks to gabriel's ideas and some *ahem* cheat*ahem*ing at the marshmellow part. Overall the ice breaker games were enjoyable.. especially the water bomb part! While everyone else was busy running for cover and finding ammunition me and leslie sneaked up behind enemy lines and stole a couple of bombs =D. Not to be outbeaten Gabriel stunned a whole pail of bombs.. wtf lol.

And then there was the flour game... Shift across flour-water soaked chairs and challenge the opposing player to scissors paper stone! The loser goes back to the start while the winner continues shifting!... Either way you get dirty lol. Well.. it was kinda fun.. and of course our group won XD. After flour game no.1 we had the "one smart man he felt smart flour game". Same rules apply ; you still get dirty and challenge the opposition to see who reaches the end.. only this time at every chair you have to go " One smart man he felt smart ".. " two smart men they felt smart " and so on... Oh and we won that too.

LOOKS LIKE PRACTICE IN CLASS PAYED OFF.

After games we had dinner.. really good curry.. veggie was abit hard though.

Seems the praise and worship turned out well and i got some really great feedback from friends. I still think i screwed up "now that you're near" and some other parts.. but i guess what matters is that the con4's enjoyed it still.. so.. yeah its nice that they appreciated it. Everyone in the band was playing well; Shaun's vocals were there, Gabriel's bass accompanying perfectly and Ori's drumming in sync. Hope we'll get to do this again in future.

The rest of the night involved reflection and a talk by brother jude, of how we are just fertiliser made into life through the breath of god. Bro.Jude also reassured us of our faith by telling us that we are God's children and reminded us of his ultimate sacrifice through the cross. Brother also went on to explain theology in a nutshell ..really interesting and enriching session and it helped to clear alot of doubts.

Then came free time ahah.. total chaos in class tau pok-ing everyone! ( For those who dont know tau pok is when every1 piles ontop of a victim and squashes him. oh yes it hurts. ) Everyone had a good time be it playing taiti, being tau-poked or just joking around.. it was a fun night.
Later on went out to join chan,nick and the twins to do some late night biking/chilling out downstairs. We ended up sleeping at 5.

Day two
Day two was more serious and we went into deep reflection, affirming our love for god through sessions and on occasion praise and worship. Second half of the day was less eventful and we spent it mostly on writing fuzzies for each other. The camp ended with mass with our parents and the look of renewed faith on everyone's faces.

Other
-Con4 t-shirts turned out nice. Almost everyone wore it during camp!

Although i feel it wasnt as deep as last year's camp, this camp has definitely rekindled my faith in god and i feel inspired to do god's work once again. This time however ill do it with him in mind, not letting other thoughts cloud my vision or objectives. No more dillusions.
