Melbourne

Ok finally got the drive to blog abt the Melbourne trip. So here goes..Long post..

Melbourne was a real experience to remember. The people there are all so layed back compared to stressed singapore and more open too. ( Maybe because its compousory in melbourne for all work to stop @ 5pm )However, the racists there actually speak up. I saw one asian guy get humiliated by some aussie nerds on the tram, but that was just one incident.. so yea.... But other than that they're like all really friendly.
We stayed in a service apartment in Exhibition street rather than a hotel in this trip ( could cook for christmas eve cus they provide stoves n all ), rather cosy too.
The plane flight was enjoyable haha! Watched like 3 movies ( Batman Begins, The island, Wallace and Grommit, curse of the were-rabbit) and the food was ..... 6/10 la haha but i was hungry so ate everything up!^_^ Ok moving on to the trip itself..

Spent the first 2 days walkin arnd the streets n shoppin wif my family, my uncle, auntie n grandma ( Who slow us down hell of alot.. but what to do?) . Well it was nice to see smiles around me for a change n wah lau every1 there looks so cool. The clothes in Melbourne r like dam cool loh n cheaper than in singapore. In singapore you'd have to pay like 70bucks for a camouflage pants from billabong that's quite plain, i got one from this shop call jeans west with a dam nice design for like 50 sing. so.. ya clothes/fashion there definitely cooler than here.
2nd day we went to check out this market called "victoria market" to get supplies for christmas eve. Bought this giantic Hotdog from there for breakfast. I think it was roughly about 15 cm.

3rd day the group broke up and me , my sis and her bf vernon went to explore melbourne cus... my grandma kinda held us back =/.. wah melbourne musuem is nice. Saw hunchback whale skeletons, preserved animals n stuff. was really sweet. Also saw James Cook's house which apparently was transported all the way from England peice by piece!! Went to the CITY musuem which was quite a letdown.. the melbourne musuem was like cheaper and had waaay more interesting stuff! haha. After everything met up with the rest and had dinner.

O ya you guys wud b amazed at the temperature there. Its summer and in the morning its 15-17 degrees! Cold sia haha.. real freak weather sometimes shoot up to 38 degrees.. one night it was raining hail! lol! O and the sun doesnt go down until 9pm in Melbourne!!!Wah i would say asians cover about 45% of melbourne's population.Seriously. Around every corner you see an asian, mostly students i guess. Omg if i dun make it in2 NUS in the future im definitely gonna use my own money study here n work too.

Anyway on to the 4th day. My dad n uncle rented an MPV which we used to explore the suburbs/ countryside. The 3rd day was the best of all, with the breathtaking views of great ocean road. Was snapping my camera away like hell. It's really amazing. It's like traveling along a cliff and below you is the coast and the sea. Really neat stuff ill get some pics up soon. Made some stopovers and had really good fish and chips at this town called Torquay ( Pronounced Tor-Qee). Bought some cool shades from there too XD. Well Geat ocean road was great but that wasnt our destination. After 4-5 hours of travelling in the countryside we reached "12 apostles". Its actually these 12 gigantic rocks that jutt out of sea along the coast but 3 collapsed lol... so when we went there we saw " 9 apostles" haha so if u guys wanna c it better go soon if not if u wait too long.. 12 apostles might become 1 apostle =X
Finished off the day with the 5 hour ride back and dinner at a nepalese restaurant. And suay enough when we wanted to go home, the car battery broke down cus we left the headlights on. Salvation came when the nice nepalese waitress came to help us juice the car up cus her car had leads!^_^ really nice individidual la she we were grateful like hell!^_^ haha.

5th day we went to the Dandenom's. It's a mountain range within Victoria with really cool views of Melbourne. After that went to yarra valley to taste wine @ a vineyard. Well i couldnt take any so i just settled for seeing the cool scenery haha. After that went over to tim's mom's house ( Tim is my cousin's australian husband, they both live in melbourne ). Was abit stiff at first but later all the guys went up to tim's family's very own jamming studio! Was great sia palyed with them and they were really good. Tim's Brother is actaully in a pro-band in australia! they've got MTV'S AND A RECORDING LABEL! COOL SIA WHEN I GET THE CHANCE ILL SHOW U GUYS THE VIDEOS/LET U HEAR THE CD. HONOURED TO JAM WITH HIM HAHA..his drumming skills r really good.. SELF-LEARNED TOO XD. After jamming we all went to eat fish and chips which the girls/moms went to buy haha. MMMM FISH AND CHIPS AGAIN.
Afta that went back to the apartment and slept immediately haha..

6th day was Christmas eve! haha followed my parents go shoppin while my sis n vern took time off alone to check out the melbourne jail. After everything we came back in the afternoon n everyone started preparing for christmas eve. Soon everything was done n Tim, Mei ( my cousin ) and everyone came together to celebrate christmas eve. Dinner was really good my mom/auntie/uncle whipped up pasta, bak-ku-teh n more. was really good... Tim brought over his 3 thousand dollar acoustic n naturally i coudlnt resist palying it haha! Had a few UNO stacko games with my sis tim n vern too. Was a really quiet but nice christmas eve la..

Nxt day was Boxing day! We all went for mass @ this church called " st.hilda's!" haha. Wah every1 there was like wishing merry christmas to each other n to us too... wad a nice christmas mood! After mass we went to eat lunch @ a jap restaurant which had really gd food! Shiok bodoh! After that we all went to take a river boat ride along the rivers of melbourne. Was really sloq and quiet.. felt like sleeping haha....... after a hour ride we stopped near docklands to have tea in a restaurant where we had apple crumble and hot chocolate. Omg the crumble was also really shiok bodoh! O ya 4got to mention one time Tim brought us to this restaurant which specialised in hot chocolate and it was freakin gd!!! Vernon ( Mega chocolate lover) went crazy LOL.. ok bak to boxing day.. After tea we met up with the rest @ china town to hav CHINESE FOOD.. cater to my GRANDMA wah lau.. haiz.. but wat to do.. wah but hell of alot of posers sia in china town.. they rev their cars but can tell its jus that their engine NOISE is customised.. not that it actually runs fast...

Haiz.. Nxt day was the last day and me, my sis n vernon went to do some last minute shopping while the rest went to do their own stuff too. Bought this cool camouflage shoe for 30 sing ( Melbourne was having sales everywhere cus of christmas eve ) n my sis n vern went crazy buying clothes lol. After shoppin we met up with the rest at a shoppin centre, went bak to the apartment to collect our bags, n head to the airport. Waved a final gd bye to Mei n Tim too who came to see us off. Nothing very interesting happen in the airport.. just a long wait thats all n finally we got on the plane to depart for singapore.. Took some cool cloud pics while on the plane.. will post it up sometime soon..

One thing i think i;ll never forget about this trip was the 2 times i saw an angel .. yea she was really beautiful.... more beautiful than *** by a hundred times! omg saw her @ jeanswest ( one of the sales assistants ).. so sweet n her smile.. can melt u!!! When she talked to me i was like on cloud 9 ^_^.. such a sweet voice.. o asian btw =] but born in melbourne perhaps? Anyways the first time we met was cool but the 2nd time.. ( my last day in melbourne ) i saw her in jeanswest.. omg it was.. heavenly! after glancing back while leaving jeanswest was like freakin happy to see her smile @ me one more time loh but haiz... fuck la nvr gonna c her again... nvr gonna 4get her though :).. Really heavenly moments when i saw/talked to her and ill 4eva b smitten everytime i think of her... haha wtf i noe this sounds corny but I HAVE TO BLOG THIS DOWN SO ILL NVR 4GET.

Well i think this was one of the most enjoyable trips i've ever been on n i really thank god for giving me the chance to go overseas/ experience different cultures. Was a really enriching experience la n im definitely going to save up to abck to melbourne one day : ).
